Curriculum

Curriculum

Classes run from July 12, 2010 to August 6, 2010.

Workshops
Students select three of the five workshop options—Film, Video, Television, Editing, and Radio for Broadcast and Web. Each workshop runs for six consecutive weekdays; Monday through Thursday workshops are held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with an hour for lunch, and on Friday they run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm.

Seminars
Seminars concentrate in one area and last the entire four weeks. Choices are directing, producing, or screenwriting and sessions include group discussion, role playing, project work, and critiques. Each seminar group meets every Friday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. throughout the entire program.

Site Visits
Guest lectures and site visits are scheduled after workshop and seminar hours. Site visits will expose you to professional workplaces for an up-close perspective on how media professionals ply their craft. Site visit partners include New England Sports Network, New England Cable News, WCVB-TV, WGBH-TV & Radio, WBUR-FM, and Mix One Studios.
